Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a software application used for scheduling file downloads. It also works to optimize the download speed. The application is capable of restarting broken and interrupted downloads that may have occurred because of lost connections, PC shutdowns and network issues. Although IDM increases the download speed by up to five times, you must still carry out some other tricks to further increase the download speed.
Follow to Speed Up IDM
Launch IDM on your computer by going to "Start" > "All Programs."
Click "Downloads" from the menu.
Go to "Options."
Click the "Connection" tab. You will see a "max. connection" field here. Change its value from "8" to "16." Also, change the "Connection type" to "LAN 100 MB/s."
Click "OK." You will then notice visible improvement in the speed.
