what is Aadhar card?

Aadhar is a 12 digit Unique Identification Number issued to every individual including children by the UIDAI as a representative of the Government of India. This number will serve as an identity proof and address proof, anywhere in India. Aadhaar can be easily verifiable in an online and in a cost effective way. We can use Aadhar as your Official Identity card and it is used for all the services like opening a new account in bank or applying for the Driving License.
 
Step by step process to obtain Aadhaar Card:


There are two ways of applying for Aadhaar Card
  • Online Appointment for Aadhaar Enrolment
  • Submission of Enrolment Form directly at the enrollment center
Required Documents for Aadhar Card:

Proof of Address (Any one of the following)
  • Ration card
  • Passport
  • Driving License
  • Telephone bill or Electricity bill
  • Voter ID
  • Government Photo ID Cards
Proof of Identity (Any one of the following)
  • PAN Card
  • Ration card
  • Voter ID
  • Passport
  • Driving License
  • Telephone bill or Electricity bill
  • Government Photo ID Cards
Note: In case you don't have above general proofs, you may also take the help of Introducers available at the enrolment centre.

Book Online Appointment for Aadhaar?

You have to fill the below online appointment form to book online appointment. At a time, a maximum of four people can confirm their appointment. However, to book another appointment schedule, you can book again.You need to fill the details like your Name, Mobile Number, E-mail, State or Union territory, Area type (rural/urban), City, Locality, Enrolment Centre (Select the nearest centre), Date and Time of appointment for enrolment as per your availability. After completing all the details in the form, you can confirm your appointment by click on the Fix Appointment button.

Incase if you want to re-schedule or cancel your appointment for enrolment, you can use the below link.

You will receive an appointment slip for Aadhaar enrolment with Token number, Centre Location Details, Contact person at the enrolment centre, Registrar Name & Enrolment Agency, Date and Time. You need to take the printout of that slip.

You need to visit Aadhaar enrolment centre along with the other persons for whom appointment has been fixed. At the enrollment center, you have to fill your personal details the application form along with the required documents mentioned above.

Submission of Enrolment Form directly at the Enrollment Center

You can obtain Aadhaar Enrolment/Application form any authorised enrolment centre.

Enrolment fee of aadhar card is free of cost.

Locate Enrolment Centre near you:


Enrolment Agency Operator will go through the following process:

  • Documents Verification
  • Biometric Scanning of Ten Fingerprints
  • Biometric Scanning of Iris
  • Photograph
 Enrolment Agency Operator will give you acknowledgment slip with a temporary enrolment number.

Aadhaar Enrolment Status:
As per UIDAI, Aadhaar number will be delivered to your address within 60 to 90 days after enrollment.

  1. I completed the above process of applying for addhar card and also got the slip of enrolment.
    but sir plz tell me wether i can download my aadhar from net or will only get from speed post

    1. sahil check your enrolment status and then can download from there if avilable get coloured printout but for sometime banks or other place they do not accept the printout so you should have the orignal copy which you will get from speed post . diffrence is that there is a publish date printed on the back of aadhar card.
